finally got the YSR 50 on the road. Flat out in top gear it appears to hit the Rev limiter and gets a bit lumpy. Is that normal?

I'd be surprised if it had a revlimiter. What speed is it doing flat-out in top ?

Took it for a second spin tonight. It doesn't hit a limiter it's a fuel issue when you are flat out. It basically misfires. Weird thing is it is only doing it in top gear and when you get between 55 and 60kmh. In every other gear it runs like a dream.........

Are you sure it's not running little lean?
Checked the plug? I would be tempted to richen by adjusting needle clip or one size up on main jet and see how she blows then ..

The cdi controls when the spark fires, a restricted cdi will retard or cut the spark at a certain revs or speed or in a certain gear, many many bikes had some form of restrictor fitted like this to comply with laws or just to tame the power and most can be over ridden fairly easily, do you have a pic of your cdi? I may have one spare here, dont know if its restricted or if it works but if its the same your welcome to try it, failing that im sure a dt50 cdi would work and may not be restricted, iv not heard of them being restricted on the ysr but it would have been if its from a funny market, i think sweden or switzerland had to have electronic restrictions on their 50s? Not 100 % on that though

Cheers! Got a friend who is a mechanic so starting point will be to get him to look at it and get his thoughts and then try this if he thinks that is what it is....
