Maybe i've been wrong all along, maybe red IS the fastest colour?

Nah.. The stripes definitely improve the 'Speed rating' meme so it must be good for at least another 5mph. And the Kawasaki Green' is worth another ten percent ..

So in my book:

(45 + 5) +10% = 55mph.. Yeah !!

Is it still running as standard at the moment? It doesn't sound right that it's only doning 45mph, unless the speedo is under-reading? My old SS50 (with a 70cc cylinder and modified head, and a 90 carb) used to tell me it was faster than that.

Is there anything you can use from other later machines that will get you a bit more out of it? These days you do need to be able to keep up with the traffic to feel safer on the roads.

Well the time has come to accept defeat.

The Kc's speedo read about 55mph(ish?!), the bike speedo I attached read 62mph & I can't justify spending any more money on it.

Nostalgia is wonderful but I am never ever buying another bike I owned when I was younger, you move on, you buy bigger more powerful bikes, it is the way of things & there is a very good reason for it.

And besides, I've just bought another bike that I use to own when I was younger............ an NS125rk, oh & a few Aprillia RS125's (I had one of these only 15 years ago & it was brilliant) Very Happy

May have to do a Honda Ns125 rebuild thread Naughty

I had one of these in blue ... but I wouldn't buy another one ... not my very first bike which was a CycleMaster Winged Wheel when I was 14 yrs old (showing my age) ...

I wouldn't mind owning this though (my sixteener) .... beautiful little Minarelli engine

Whats that proven scientific equation for the correct amount of motorcycles?

Ah yes, n+1

The final formula for the exact amount of motorcycles you need to have.
Where n is the number of motorcycles you currently have (source, ClassicBike aug2015)

Very Happy Embarassed Very Happy

I have just bought 3 Aprilia RS125's off one of my customers (by mistake I must add). One is a road bike from 1997 & the other two are race bikes from the superteen race series.

The 'dry race' bike is bloody fast for a 125cc, it just keeps pulling. I've never ridden a 125 that pulls like my Kr1 Shocked
Not sure what its top speed is as the speedo I have put on it isn't working.

The Rs125 I had years back was partly de-restricted & that did 85mph+ but this ex race bike flies. It has:

34mm dellorto
Full arrow exhaust
De-restricted cdi
Fully adjustable rear shock
Adjustable front fork
Not sure if the engine has been touched but when I blow it up I'll find out then.

I would buy one Paul but go for the RS125 the Mito's were heavily restricted after 96 (if I remember rightly?)

Ahh yes the n+1 equation! That means i need one more for the perfect amount of bikes Very Happy

Can you get the super quick rs rege for the road? That would be fun showing up much bigger bikes,

And i am very tempted, i also quite like the tzr 125 belgarda

The problem with most 125s is the abuse they have had, i might as well get a dog to start with as ill need to fully rebuild it anyway, but i really do think the rs will be a future fizzy

I fully agree, such a good looking bike Love

And you're spot on with the abuse the 125's get. Always budget for a full engine rebuild with the poor little buggers.

At least then you can thrash them mercilessly with a decent amount of confidence Twisted Evil

A future fizzy, hmmmmmm my money would be on the peugeot speedfight?!

What do you reckon?
