|
|
I have been asked what is the difference between the Disk valve profile for 'A' model (unrestricted 21bhp) and 'B' model (restricted 12bhp) kawasaki AR125
See picture below:
Both disks are NLA from KHI in the UK
You can cut the B model disk to change the valve timing to match the unrestricted A model using this profile

The A model barrel exhaust port is 27mm from top of barrel (restricted B model 29mm). Transfers no difference.
The A model head has a volume of 13-14ml (B model 15-16ml)

Would you still time it up using the arrow and mark on crank ? |

Yes cut the B disk and then fit lining up arrow and mark on crank - unless you have significantly tuned it up and then cutting the disk / moving it a tooth on the splines needs to suit the port timing and exhaust. _________________ We are where we are... |

Thanks, Im not planning on a major tuning just the disk valve, unrestricted head and just polishing the ports. Although I may pay someone else to do this as I have no experience of it and dont want to ruin the barrel. |

You could try Mick Abbey in Harrogate, he is excellent with the barrel and head work and not too expensive. Then maybe wait for Kenny on here to work his magic with a full power spannie
(c'mon Kenny pull yer finger out, haha) _________________ We are where we are... |
