We love that you're all posting stuff on here, and helping each other out with advice and encouragement. It's exactly why this place exists. Clap

Can we make a request though ? Rather than start a brand new topic for every question you have, can you just add a post to the existing topic about your bike please ? It makes it so much easier to follow the progress with your bikes, and work out who's doing what. If you've got two bikes, start two topics, and give 'em helpful names too. We can easily split topics in two if they go off on a tangent, but we can't merge separate ones.

AR125 owners - yes, this means you ! Laughing We're very pleased that you seem to have found a useful home here, but we can't keep up with all your questions and answers. It's not just you by the way. Wink

Thanks.

Tim, is this meant to apply only to those who start (or have already started) topics about their project bikes? If so, there is some merit in your request. Questions related to items featured under certain topics are often much better kept under those same topics (whether the questions are asked by the original poster or the audience).

However, can one assume that all users read all topics? If not, the audience for certain topics may be limited because the title can contain only so much information. If someone has a "bitsa" project bike which uses major parts from perhaps ten different makes or models, it would be impractical to mention all of these in the title. Therefore, the topic may not attract some people who could offer advice, which means it may be better to ask some questions under separate topic headings.

Also, not all users start a topic on their bike(s), yet some may still seek advice on price/availability/suitability/fitting of certain components. As these requests are made as the needs arise, it would be difficult to devise a topic heading under which all future questions could be asked.

I may have got the wrong end of the stick from your request - I wasn't sure if it applied to some or all project bike topics or perhaps "across the board". If I seem to have misunderstood anything, please let me know Cool .

Thanks & regards,
James

It probably came across a bit heavy James, we certainly don't want to impose any rules on here or dissuade anyone from posting anything. Embarassed

You're right, plenty of valid questions or posts are generic or don't really fit the structure we mentioned. So by all means, post where you see fit. Just have a little think first about someone new joining the forum and how best they'll find the useful info they want.

Carry on ! Laughing
