Yes, POR-15 works well. I've done 15+ tanks over the last 20 years or so and had no problems (although I did burn my leg slightly when heating up one tank to dry it out before pouring in the sealer Embarassed ).

That SDR looks very tidy. Mine should look similar...when I finally get it back together! R1-Z looks nice too.

Regards,
James

Well after months of tank cleaning I ended up using this which cleaned it out a treat.

I have had the forks re hard chromed by a place in Sandbach in Cheshire called Dynasurf. http://www.dynasurf.co.uk/

And cleaned and painted the engine.

A local firm wanted £140 to re chrome these 8 items and it would take 6 to 8 weeks so I said no, or words to that effect.

Coming along nicely!

The chrome can be expensive alright, sometimes a strategically applied blob of silver paint is all you need to spruce up parts that aren't too bad.

Yes I did get them lacquered but the originals were not, strangely. I have just checked the inside of the tank after a week of having petrol in and the tank liner is coming off. Evil or Very Mad
