Right i bought 3 bikes from a guy. one of them was a gsx250 with no v5.
My understanding was that it was an import from germany. (information overload on the day, it was a 250 lc that was imported from germany)
So i rang the guy to clarify and he says not so, it was bought from someone who had the bike from new but had lost the log book.
the only thing that makes me challenge this is that stroker boy asked me if it was an import because of the front reflectors.
but i did a check on dvlc and came back with this..

If you know the reg number then you can just apply for the V5. Can't remember what form you need, it costs £25 (or did when I last did it). They write to the registered keeper and if they don't get a reply they assign it to you and send it.

Maybe it had reflectors from new, or maybe the last owner fitted them.

If stolen you might get a incorrect V5 and a visit from the police. That's what happened to me many years back. Brought 2 Honda SS50's from a high up VJMC person. It turned out that the one was stolen. The police took it away, though i did get my money back. Evil or Very Mad

Had to send off for v5 a few times.. Its taken at best 4 weeks and at worst 6 months, with me ringing them a number of times to chase up. Always come back ok though in the end.

Looking forward to seeing the cafe speedster unfold Wink
