LOL

When I got back from the dealer last weekend, I walked in the house with a brochure and some paperwork and my wife says

"Tell me you didnt buy anything"

and I say

"nope, just put a deposit down so I have the option to buy it in the fall when the spring orders come in "

Smile

All the snowmobile manufacturers release their new model lines in Feb/March for the following year. When they do this, you can buy what they call (for Ski-doo) an "X" model. These sleds have features (decal packages, colours, upgraded shock's , upgraded gauge and instrumentation package, etc etc) that you can only get with a spring order, and they come with 3 or 4 year warranty instead of 1yr.

Its only wise to buy in spring.

plus my dealer will refund my deposit if i decide i dont like it when it arrives (little chance of that)

The new 850 2 stroke is said to be as durable and long lasting as a 4 stroke. The cylinders have a plasma coating which contains iron, it holds oil better and is harder than Nicasil. Pistons also have cast iron inserts so the ring lands and grooves are cast iron and better heat expansion control. The crank is cast, and doesn't flex like a typical crank, the crank bearings are also fed by dedicated oil galleries so your not depending on premix or sealed bearings like the older technology.

Hi Straycat,

a good mate of mine buys a new Suzuki GSXR750 almost every year and each time he does, he goes for the blue and white scheme. He then has the dealer store it until the UK registration documents come through, when he then rides his old bike in, swaps the private registration plate onto the brand new bike and rides it home.

As far as his wife's concerned, all she sees is a blue and white Suzuki, with the same plate!

Sneaky sod or what eh!

Tis the season...

my spring ordered sled arrived on the 23rd.

the technology and HP in this stroker are incredible. They are dyno-ing at 170hp (despite the manufacturer claiming 165-- typical of BRP). my buddy has the same machine, he has hit 185km/h so far and thats with the engine ECU in "Break-in" mode where the HP and performance are restricted. should be a real bullet when its out of break-in. I have no intention of going at that speed.

At the dealer the day of pick-up:

in my fields (trails are not open yet). My son's sled is the yellow one, its got a graphics wrap on it this year, yellow/black on one side and black/yellow on the other, that took us 11 hrs to install:

getting ready to go in the garage:
