Took the wife's 250 Hornet for MOT today. Should be OK, I did 60kms on it on Sunday and everything still seems to work. Very Happy

Me and Mrs.StrokerBoy made the short trip across the bridge to Barton Bike Night on the LC.

The queues to get in and out weren't bad this year, and I found a decent place to park. Getting home was made more interesting by a huge lorry that decided to roll over on the roundabout. Shocked

Get one Rob. They're not fast, the brakes are terrible and the handling isn't great either (especially two-up, and even considering the mods) but they put a smile on your face like nothing else. For me anyway.

I've owned the 125LC, a few 350LC F2's and a 500LC, but never the 250/350.

Always planned to, but never got around to it.

Maybe it's about time I did.

Cupboard in the garage was falling apart, so I fixed it today. That involved pushing all the bikes out of the way first. Which meant I might as well hoover the garage carpet while I had chance.

And while they're out, I might as well fire 'em all up and send some more smoke towards next door's big family barbeque eh ? Naughty

By the way, don't let the collapse of PhotoFuckit put you off posting in here, you're allowed to tell us what you've been up to without photos you know. Wink

We know some of you have been to the CMC 2-Stroke Sundays in South Wales and Derbyshire for example. Were they any good ?

I didn't go to those but I did go to The Driffield Show, biggest one day farming type show in the country! Apparently?

And while waiting for my family to come out of the arts & craft tent, I went wandering over to the steam engine display, where they usually have a few old British bikes on display.

This year there were four Rolling Eyes But one of those was a Scott Very Happy
Didn't get the chance to ask him anything about the bike as there was a couple of right anorak's banging on about some old Triumph flat tank Twisted Evil

Bloody four stroke enthusiasts......grrrrrrr

Laughing

I've been to Driffield Show a couple of times. Seems a lot of trouble to go to for just a single day?

I usually hang around the Unimog stand until they give me a pile of free stuff to get rid of me. Embarassed

Was working away this year though so couldn't go.

Today I fitted a speedo face from an Aprilia RS125 to a spare speedo for my AF1 Futura. It now means it shows imperial as well as the usual AF1 metric speed.

It may seem like a simple thing but the sticker overlay bugged me & using a mechanical converter means most of the speedo woudn't have been used.

I insured the bikes for the year.

Every year I pick different bikes.

Last year was 86 GSXR 750 G, SDR 200, RGV vj 21 L and the BMW 650 every day bike.

This year I went for 87 FZR 1000, TDR 250, RGV 250, TS 185 ER and the bm.

It's a balancing act of which bikes need parts - tires - batteries and my non existent budget. Nice problem to have I suppose Laughing

Not strictly stroker but managed to locate source of weird size spherical bearing for my Ducati 900SS Showa rear shock. Ducati want nearly 50 quid each but paid 20 quid for two . Result.

Well, not bike obviously, but I've finally got our old Mini back on the road, and took it to my local classic car meet on Friday night.

It reminds me a lot of my LC - it's not very fast, there's usually something needs fixing and there's always a tiny doubt as to whether it'll get back you back home again. But again, just like the LC, it puts a huge grin on my face and somehow encourages me not to take the highway code too seriously... Wink
