Can anyone tell me the differences between the oil pump on the ar125A and ar125B, i presume the ar125A oil pump would pull more oil through than the B version, it's the parts i'm interested in, are any of the parts the same ?

Any advice would be appreciated

Hi Matt,

Part numbers are different so I would say you're right on the oil delivery.

If you look on cmsnl they have the diagrams you're looking for.

A model is 49042-1053
B model is 49042-1051

Hope this helps

Cheers Howie, I did have a look at CMS but it dose not show the difference in the actual internals of the pump, I think I'll have to get hold of a B version pump and strip it to see the difference.

Cheers for your help

I think you will find that the pmps are the same.

The difference is the size/shape of the butterfly cable holder. It's the same on the 50/80 pumps.

The number stamped on the butterfly valve is the one to check, not the one on the valve body.

I'm working away at the min and fell out with photobucket.

The butterfly valve is easy to spot as it's the arched pressed steel galvanised arm that holds the cable. Look at it closely and you will see numbers stamped. I can check mine when I'm home to identify what you have but not back until Friday

Good news is the pump you have is A model (AR125 A4-ACool

B model later pump is 16082-1070
A model later pump is 16082-1069

The last four digits of the part number are stamped on the pulley Wink

Great cheers for confirming that !

Now I'm a bit worried as I've spent ££££ on spare parts with CMS
As I was told my bike was A6 1988 hopefully all the spares are compatible with the A4 1986

My post was changed by the auto emoji... it should say A4-A8

The A model oil pumps are all the same for later A models. The B models are different.

The early models had different pumps for example A1A had 2 different oil pumps
