Thanks for the updates George - some useful info for anyone contemplating a front end swap.
In your last photo, it looks as if there is minimal engagement between the speedo drive gearbox and the peg on the fork leg - perhaps only about 3mm?
Obviously the spacer washers tend to decrease the engagement. It may not be a problem in use though - do you think it is worth carrying out any modification to increase the engagement?

No problem with that at least for now. When driving I think there is no movement so there will be no wear to the peg.
In any case, it would be an easy modification for my welder if need be. |
