Yes i know its very expensive.

For the WW i had to buy all the fairing parts from Japan and that doesn't help to keep the costs down.

But i really like to restore and work on the bikes.
Also for me the RG's are the last ones can't affort another restoration.

I can't get pics on the forum.

If you send me an Email i will send you pics of the RG's

Erik

hi
I have finally got round to fitting my newly painted front pipes and refurbished end cans to WW (tidy version ) and its looking alot better for it.
I'm still waiting for my paintwork to be finished but all being well i should pick up next friday, can't wait to get it back together and see what it looks like.I still need to re-connect powervalve cables and adjust properly , maybe get round to it on sunday.
I had all 3 together today and took some pics , not much to look at as 2 are still work in progress.

Great line up Charlie and looking really good. You're catching me up! so I'd better get a move on! I seem to be going backwards a bit at the moment having scratched a handlebar end and something has dripped onto the left side expansion chamber (petrol I think when setting up the carbs etc) so I'll have to take them off and touch up the paint etc.
It's at this stage you have to be soooo careful.
Cheers, Rob.

Hi all
Managed to get powervalve cables reconnected and adjusted up ok on the WW yesterday.
Finally got my paintwork back and have been re-fitting it today, the hardest job was fitting the tank back on, its a bas**** trying to reconnect all the pipes and wires.
The bike looks really good now and just need to get the seats and bum pad recovered and maybe do another set of forks to put in next winter.
here's a few pics

Daily ride WW and restored WW

Outstanding job done. Very Happy Very Happy

Very very nice bikes

Credit to all your hard work on them.

I still have to adjust the PV cables on the RG.
Can you explain how you did it?

Regards Erik

You've overtaken me! Great job and well done the bikes are looking excellent. Got to get a line up of RG's at Uttoxer now!
I'll put a few photos of mine up asap in all it's multi-coloured glory! as I've managed to get the bodywork loosely back on the bike.

Cheers, Rob.

I really dont think the cans will ooooze oil from the rivets, I was curious as to why the cans were so heavy, if I remember right, there's 3 layers of metal inside, so the rivets are biting into a good thickness of metal! Did you find that they took a bit of drilling? Well done by the way, she's a beauty!

hi
Drilling through the cans was the easy bit the stainleess shrouds were alot harder. The bike does look good now but i still prefer white and blue early version and the blue and white later version mk3's.
Taking it for its MOT tomorrow so fingers crossed Smile

My first rg250 G185 LET early 90's
