Diff'rent Strokers

Hi all. I'm a newbie to this forum. Found out about it through the KTC board a couple of days ago. I recently got an AR50 engine from the UK that I'm going to use in my KV75 project. It's standard 50cc now but I'll get a nos 80cc barrel and a useable 93cc kit in about 3 weeks. Bought a new carb and intake on ebay the other night for the 93cc kit. My first question is:
What are the HP figures for the different barrels ?

There doesn't seem to be much info about AR's anywhere, which is a shame. I had an AR80 when I was 17 but I can't pretend I know much about them. I'm sure Kawasaki quoted 7.2bhp for the 80 but I don't know how they measured up for real.

There's the odd mention of AR's on the KR Forum and there's an AR Owners Club in Japan.

So it looks like you're the expert ! Laughing

Keep us up to date with your project and post some pictures. The KV75 is Kawasaki's Gag Bike. Cool

Thanks. According to the Kawasaki Recognition Manual, the AR50 were delivered with 7.2 HP in Africa. It doesn't say anything about any other countries, but I know the AR50 HP figure were 2.5 for Norway. Now I'm not aiming for 50cc anyway. It will be 80 or 93. Can't go down in cc's from 75 to 50. For christ's sake ! Very Happy

10.2 sounds right. That would be over 100% more HP than in a stock KV which has 4.2. If the 80cc has 10.2, the 93cc kit should have a few more.
I'm looking forward to this project.

Hi, Uk AR50's are 2.9hp, 10hp for the 80's.
The 93cc kit doesnt make much difference unless you port it. Make sure you use an 80 head or a machined head to match the 93cc(53mm) barrel,or you'll end up siezing it up,that is guaranteed.

You MUST run an AR80 oil pump too - it flows more oil than the 50. It's easier to fit the whole 80 bottom end, that way you get the six speed box too. As said above, also run an 80 head, gearing and carb (jetted to suit). Allspeed/Nikon pipes work best. Have fun

I know this old but im doing an ar too! Iv got a complete 50 engine that was in the bike but the guy gave me a complete 80 engine too!
All seemed good with the 80 engine but its all been completely stripped and is undergoing frame up rebuild and im not sure weather to go down the tuned 93 cc route or the kx 80 engine route?
If i go down the kx 80 route though ill make a gag bike type flattrack thing with 12 inch wheels but not sure if i can pull it off
But i really want a gag bike and its looking like this may be the only way!
Any other ar hints or tips would be great like what other forks and shocks fit?
Would love a twin disc set up on front for pure pose points!

Thanks, and its in lots of lumps at the moment! So pics wont be great!,
Iv got a tzr 125 too that has been previously hand painted very badly so again not good in photos! But its got the short stroke engine in it with no power valve, its a laugh riding the little strokers though!
My big bike is a triumph daytona 955 and it sounds lovely but not a two stroke!
Ill try and keep the ar updated though
