Hi Justin,

Pleased to hear you've got your ignition box fitted and working, has it fixed the problems you had with the OEM unit?

I'm looking forward to hearing how it affects the way the bike runs when you make adjustments.

It didn't seem too expensive, maybe we'll all be getting one.

Hi Karl,
At the moment i'm just having a play around with it. Ignitech were unable to supply a standard 'map' for the sdr so they sent the unit and also sent a tzr/dt125 map as a starting reference. I loaded that map in but had to change quite a lot of it. It's going for the mot on Friday so when i get it on the road i might be able to tell if its ok.

I have noticed though that riding it up and down our yard (which is quite big,) it seems to not like max revs. I have altered the ypvs settings and feel that it may be a carb issue. It feels like at full revs the choke is still on which leads me to think the new 175 main jet that i fitted might be slightly high/rich. when it had the 125 jet in it did feel better at the top end but, as it was the wrong jet i was worried it would be running lean.

Reading through your thread re your carb issues i noticed that yours did something similar. You mentioned it was 'four stroking' I'm not familiar with that phrase, what were the symptoms of four stroking. I know you dropped your needle and i thought that is possibly what mine now needs. I fitted the needle in the middle position with a plastic washer above and below. I'll see what it's like on the road and then have a play with the needle.

Hi Justin,

By "Four Stroking" I mean running like a four-stroke, firing every other full rotation of the crank. A two-stroke should fire on every rotation of the crank.
