Hi all

Well after a £907 engine rebuild its back together and im running it in as best i can.
The reason it was so much was because the man doing the rebuild had to strip my original engine and my spare engine
to make one good one as gearbox teeth were found to be chipped and the head + barrel needed machining as they were warped.

There seems to be problems with the carb , its running a 180 MAIN jet standard size.

Its starts but feels down on power and not at all crisp like a 2 stroke should and after 10 mile trip it still needs the choke full on to start again.

Looking at the carb its in need of a professional clean or fitting with a bigger main jet, maybe 200...

I have seen STINKWHEELS web site and am thinking of dropping it off to them to sort out on there dyno.

Then i may turn my attention to the clocks , they look like some one beat the hell out of the with some thing.

any way looking forward to a sorted bike soon.

paul

Wow those clocks have taken a proper slide down the road at some time... Exactly why not many of the early jap 125s around nowadays, they all got trashed by people like meeeee.

I used to like the first RG125 and ave nearly bought one a few times but a lack of parts like bodywork put me off. Great bike and look forward to more pics..

As for the carb, I'm no expert but when I've had the same problem with VM and PWK carbs I've started like you with a good clean and then it's not been the main jet - in order

Pilot air screw - wind in full then out 1.5turns
Set float height
Make sure no air leaks in rubbers between carb/engine and air box etc
Clean pilot jet and try going up one size

I'm assuming crank seals are good as you have had an engine rebuild..

Then look at needle / main jet

Hope it's sorted soon

Very Happy

hi Top-shaggy

Many thanks for your help on setting up the carb.

I have ordered new pilot jet and needle and air mixture screw just in case one of the 11 former owners messed about and fitted wrong stuff.

Another part i need is the airbox bracket, i have the right hand side.

but need other side.

Hi all

Had a bit of luck with airbox brackets , now have both side brand new..

Also have ordered main jet size 190 , 200 and pilot jet size 37.5 and 40...

Just have to wait till they arrive in post and try them in the cleaned carb.
