The sticker kit is an Ebay special.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KIT-ADESIVI-DECAL-STICKERS-APRILIA-AF1-FUTURA-125-1990-90-/230841157013?pt=Ricambi_e_Accessori_Moto&hash=item35bf348595

There's a load of stuff out there, having spent a while messing about buying old bmx stuff I've got a good idea how to negotiate Ebay, check worldwide auctions or even country specific Ebay sites, some say Italy only, but most of the time if you ask they will post to the UK.

Dilemma time.

Bought a 2nd hand mudguard from an SP model as the £111 asking price for a new standard one seemed a bit excessive & 2nd hand stuff available was as bad as the one on the bike.

Then out of the blue a very good standard item popped up on the bay.

Now which should I go with? Each type appeared on the Futura so it's not like fitting something none standard, any thoughts?

Standard is the red un. Confused

Depends how funny you are about things being original ?

Looking at pictures I would prefer the black one (painted red to suit your bike) as I'm not too keen on the exposed metal bracket that runs down the front of the fork bottoms.

Hi

The red one was used on the early Futuras which used the same forks as the older AF1 Sintesi. The black one was used on the later Futuras which used the larger forks used on the RS125.

Personally I prefer the later ones.

All the best

Yours being an early one and with the early forks, it is the early one that should be on it.

All the best

Not much happening, waiting for parts from Italy, trying to get it complete & running properly before the tear down & paint.

Speaking of running properly, as it would only run on choke i decided to strip & clean the carb...

Proper mess in there, don't think the fuel was helping either!

First post-hello everyone.

Recently bought an AF1 Futura, will no doubt be asking for loads of help to work out what, where & how.

Pic from the Ebay advert, tatty bodywork, but 99% complete.

That brings back memories, its exaclty the same as the one I had some 20 years ago....I wonder if it is my old one ? I have never seen another one so it could be. I had a mate on a KR1 clock me at over 100mph on it so it may of been close to a 100mph 125 in its day.

Could be, I think DVLA have this one down as registered in the UK in 1999.
There was one on Ebay a few weeks ago & there is a UK spec one in Vale-Onslows in Birmingham, don't know what it's doing there, being repaired or sold, weird place! Smile
