That's beautifully engineered and looks well proportioned and "right". Congratulations, I'm sure it rides as well as it looks - I'd be interested to hear what it is like.

to be honest its not quite right yet,i'm having trouble scrubbing the tyres to the edge....doesn't feel quite right to me cranked over, there's too much sag everywhere, and the forks are under damped and sprung,i'm fitting my aprilia rs 250 front end very soon, which should get rid of alot of the front end problems(and add some extra breaking Twisted Evil )then its a case of dialling the rear to suit better(it has a mito sp rear shock which is adjustable).
i will get there in the end Very Happy

hi doug , hows the front end swap going . thought you were fitting a 916 front end , don't know where i got that idea . anyway you know i love your conversion . what the ktm like by the way ? all i have is two strokes and v twins (tl1000s) must be something about the abrupt power delivery .

rob,
the aprilia front end is in,and works very well,i've dialled in the suspention as best i can and the bike has improved alot, unfortunatly she's now thrown one of its big ends out Crying or Very sad ,after a hard dyno session.now its apart the barrels are off to be tuned and i'm going to have another set of pipes made to give a better mid-range(non exsistant on present pipes).

the ktm is a real hooligan tool, just like a tdr but with masses more grunt Twisted Evil ,awesome bike, took some getting used to after 600 multi's though.
cheers

don't replace the exhausts until you've tried them with the tuned barrels they may suit each other better . even better while you've got it apart why not call stan the man . the cheetah kits have dropped alot i'm about to order one about 1500 pounds get you about 80bhp rear wheel and a stack more mid range . the kit comes with a crank and you won't have to pay for a rebore and pistons . stans number is 01732 760337 . the kits go up to 610cc but he advised me to go for the 420cc option and thats what i've quoted you on . the dollars week so good time to buy .
all the best rob .
p.s i'm going down to romford for the dyno shootout on the rg500 on the 2nd of sept unless something crops up . maybe i'll see ya down there

i haven't had the chance to update for a while........
freshly fitted rs250 front end

after the big end death,martin77(rd-tdr forum)tuned the barrels for me and converted the reeds to 6 petal tdr items, with carbon reeds, the bike certainly performed better than it did running the gibson pipes(less peaky with more midrange)but i decided to bite the bullet and get martin to make me a set of pipes aswell, holy cr*p,what a difference, the bikes much more of an animal now....good bottom end, strong midrange and a real kick in the pants at the top end, peaking earlier and stronger Twisted Evil .
here's martins pipes

they've been painted black now, look and sound awsome.
just got to save for the paint job now Crying or Very sad
