Thanks for the comments, it looks a bit tatty with this bodywork on, iv got a new spare set for when iv decided i wont fall off!

Tanks coming off next though to get that pinhole sorted, any ideas on what i should do ie liner, get it rebuilt or find someone that can lead it? Iv not had experience with any of these so any views would be great, im leaning towards liner as i can try it myself but keep hearing mixed reviews and i think having it rebuilt will be silly money, and i couldnt find any leaders last time i looked,

Oh and definately need to sort that front brake!

Its priced a bit to high to be honest as im quite happy to keep it but i really just want something fun i can actually use! I know it will be at least another year before i get all the other little bits done , just search ysr 125 if you want to read the description, or give me a shout if your interested or if youve got something motd and interesting for it

I'd get the hole brazed up, easier to find a welder that should be able to do that. Don't like liners myself.

One of mine has a pin hole, when I asked the bike painter/airbrush artist he was swaying me towards lining as opposed to weld, POR51 was his recommendation.
I chat to the mechanic at MBO Sport when I'm there, he used to work for Yamaha UK running the MX team, he has an RD400 and an SR hence why I talk to him, his recommendation was to use a liner, but, find an aviation grade.
I've also been considering Caswell Plating's offering myself, as it is a fairly local company to me Question

If it goes ill be selling the spare fairings shortly after! And im leaning towards brazing welding if it doesnt go iv had some really good quotes so it seems crazy to line when it could be repaired for around 100 pounds

There is that to it too, the other option i thought about was cutting the bottom out completely and fully treating the inside of the tank then finding a smaller plastic tank and using the original shell as a dummy tank as getting the bottom welded back on will be a little tricky without some distortion at least, theres a few options open to me, iv found a guy that specialises in hand making high end classic body panels by hand and he said he could do it no problem, said he often does very thin sheet welding for when people want to race their cars, they have to bodies remade in thinner steel to save weight! And hes done many many fuel tanks too so should have an idea of how bad the internal rust is taking hold, i love these old specialists, supremely talented but they seem to be getting harder and harder to find, this guy doesnt advertise its all just current customers and word of mouth and he works from a unit on a farm, ill see how i get on with him and let you all know, onlything is i dont think it will be cheap but if he can give me a good as new tank it may be worth it as i dont expect a nos tank would be cheap either!

I reckon you'd be best selling the fairing and putting money towards it. Very Happy

Yeah not too sure about the indian one, im sure they will be most helpfull if or when it doesnt fit, and im sure its made of the highest quality steel too!

And the remanufactured one is 400 quid! Im sure i can get mine repaired for less than that, and it might well have the same corrosion in the lower seam too, might last 6 months might last 6 years, no way to tell, and i cant see either of them picking up no damage in transit!

Ill let you all know how i get on with the tank though, be good to know someone that does good repairs to our tanks.

Oh and the fairings still are not going yet!
Go on iscream take the plunge and let us all know!

Maybe use the line like you would like to be their official importer but need to check for quality and fitment first! Razz
