Haha..

Yes they may as well be.. The UK and Japan parts books don't list these oil seals. If they fail .. then they suggest you have to buy a complete new oil pump..

But - the Thailand version parts book is different and lists all the oil seals in the pump separately.. Still very rare and hard parts to get hold of. Al least I can then repair the oil pump .. Which I did yesterday Smile

Taco-tastic - h Smile

What kind of seals are they?
Im not good for many things but im pretty good at getting things like this!
I used to work alot with hard to find seals and one off bits, can normally find most things, i read in a classic bike mag that fibre seals are getting hard to find but my supplier will do then any size by the 100 easily!
They look just like little dowty washers but its hard to see in the pic
Now you have them though will you measure up and find the same at a bearing factors?

Thanks Paul, I will take some better pics when I get home to see if you think I could get some / source alternatives.

They look a but like dowty washers, but the metal band is 'cupped' to the seal and only on one side, not all the way through the centre.

I bet I could get away with normal seals without the metal band, especially on the tachometer side.

I think i get what you mean!
Very strange indeed, be worth trying a bearing place for sure but when we get some goid pics, and maybe an idea of what it looks like cross sectional ill see what i can do, if i can find them im guessing they will only be pennies!

Here we go,
"In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them....maybe you can hire ....

The AR-Team."

(Sorry, couldnt resist that first)

Iv asked a few and they are proving to be elusive so far but ill keep on, i know a place that will make them but it would be expensive and would be better to have a batch made, i dont think there would be a big enough market for it!
