Been thinking about going 2-stroke only for a while now.
Admittedly the only four stroke I own now is a ZXR400 H2 (in bits  )
Is anyone else a 2-stroke only household? Or is it impossible to live without a four stroke? |

Hi Howie,
I've got as follows;
Yamaha XT225 x 2
Yamaha XT250 x 1
BMW F650 x 1
Kawasaki AR125 x 1
So I've been a 4 stroke rider since I last owned a Kawasaki KE175 way back in 1979 (wish I still had that bike now) but the fore is strong and I've returned to the dark side with the recent purchase of the AR!

Hi Reggie,
I own a 1979 Ke175! (still being rebuilt  ) & couldn't part with it.
I'm thinning out my bike stash so I can concentrate on finishing the ongoing projects I have. The Zxr400 is a stumbling block though.
However, I think I would rather have my 2ma on the road than the Zxr? Hmmmm.....
Saying that, if I had an XT250 I wouldn't be thinking of going 2 stroke only, I love air cooled four stroke trail bikes, a friend had the KL250 years ago & sold it without giving me first dibs.........

Iv been pondering this same thing recently, i very rarely use my big bike bike, only when the missus wants a trip out in summer really, but shes expecting now so thats not happening for a while, so she has given the thumbs up for it being swapped for a little stroker!
But that would leave me without a fourstroke!

Sorry to say but i have 2 4-strokes
1 FJR 1300 for daily comuting
1 Bandit 1200 K6
Luckely there are 16 2-strokes in the shed to choose from

Thanks Erik, just watched your steeds .. Some absolutely lovely bikes there.
What are the standard cans for a HB? Are they different on the JDM versions to the EU RG versions?
I wouldn't be able to help myself finding a GT125 and RG125 Gamma too..
I wouldn't be as bothered with the 500s as they are far too common..haha
Listening to them ring a dings making me want to get mine out now...phew

No they are the same for as far as i know
I have a NOS set of DEP end cans on the HB and 1 WW
only because i could not find a decent genuine set and the DEP cans are still available NOS from the UK
Thanks for the compliment
But if i had to start over again i would not have so many bikes
A lot of work time and money to keep them running and as Original as possible
But can't complain its a nice collection

I really do need a Suzuki, think I've only had two.
Ts185, can't remember the year but 1981 rings a bell(?) I also had a GS500 as a 'winter hack' (sorry hate that term, its like first big bike  )
Ooh hang about, I think I had a GS400 at some point too? |
