Hi Guys n Gals,

well Doc had a steady ride on his latest purchase, despite low mist and cloud in the Peak District and I must admit it sounded great coming up the road.

Anyway here’s the beastie!

And the man with his bike.

In this shot he was making the same noise as the bike! Big kid eh!

And riding down the driveway.

And here’s a shot of his mount, with my Tiddler Kawasaki.

What a great day.

Love the last pic, what a difference a few decades make in motorcycle design!

They are quite a large bike the RS's, the pic of the bike from the front, you'ld be forgiven thinking it was a 600.

What was the last year of the 2T Rs125?

Hi Howie,

Docs is a 2012 model, so I'm convinced that was the last year!

Hi Guys n Gals,

well what would an average 17 year old do, with his new RS125?

Too young for a pub or club.

Yet they’re always hungry?

So the obvious would be the chippy!

We re-created that scene with the kind assistance of Steve and the staff from the Village Chippy. Added the chips to my home made Beef & Ale stew and it went down a real treat!

Here’s Steve taking a gander at the bike.

And Doc thought he’d got lucky!

Brilliant stuff.

Hi Guys n Gals,

he's a class act is our Doc!

Almost as bad as my use of WD-40, as an aftershave!

Hi Guys n Gals,

well it came time for Doc to bugger off home, only for him to return after about 15 minutes, to find the RS wouldn't run at around 6000rpm and sounded strangled!

So we removed the fuel tank (which he'd just filled up after thinking the symptoms were of fuel starvation) and started to take a look and what did we find?

1, the spark plug was perfect (he'd got a second yesterday, along with a small spark plug wrench).

2, the air box had suffered some weird damage to it, before Doc had bought it.

How's this for melted plastic?

3, not only was the air box melted but the was water in the bottom of it, despite promises that the dealership had replaced their filter, so faults like this would'v stood out like a sore thumb.

4, the outside of the air box looked like this.

We then removed the carb, to find the vacuum fuel supply didn't work, so when you disconnected the fuel feed, that fuel then leaked out everywhere.

5, we found a coup[le of the carb jets to be blocked, so we cleaned 'em out and put it all back together again, where she darted with ease, ran with a more crisp exhaust note and fair flew down the road.

So much for the garage giving it a test ride and service work prior to delivery!

Well it's fingers crossed for his 90 mile ride home.

After my unplanned pit stop back at Reggies the bike is running sweet again.

It was a lovely day for tinkering in the sunshine and as you can see I discovered a few things about the bike.

I don't think the bike had been run for some time before I got it and some crap had worked it's way into the carb. I think I'll be fitting an inline filter tomorrow.

The melted air box is a bit odd though. It looks like it's been attacked with a soldering iron. I have no idea what has gone on there. It's not as if it's a 30 year old bike with 20 previous owners.

My ride home was one of the worst I've had for some time though. 50 miles in dense fog. Riding at 20mph with my visor open. Luckily the bike performed faultlessly after our pit stop earlier in the day which was "Bostin" as they say around here. Could you imagine what my ride would have been like if the problem hadn't materialised until half way home in the dark!

So all good in the end.

Looks like a very bad attempt at a plastic weld repair to an airbox bracket to me?

Glad the bike ran well on the way back.. Proper first ride out on a little 2T doing 90 miles over the Peak District ... Proper foggy here I Derbyshire today.

Looks like Matlock, Cat n Fiddle etc could be mutual meeting points when the weather picks up Smile

Hi Guys n Gals,

well Doc's little RS125 was doing an indicated 85mph, whilst on a short section of the M6 today but on his way home he said he was nearer to 65mph, due to the tailwind becoming a headwind!

As he'd an almost 200 mile round trip, I had to do him a full English breakfast, so he was a happy bunny heading home.

And the reason for his ride up was so we could start our plans for the Isle of Man Classic TT at the end of August and into September this year.

So what bike should I take?

Well it would be rude not to use my AR125 now wouldn't it!

I’m hoping to do the Classic for the first time this year. I’ve been going to the TT for a long time, but hear the Classic has grown in to a really good event.

My plan is to take my KH250, if ever I get chance to get back to work on it and finish it in time.

From what I’ve heard you’ll be pleased to be seen on whatever you chose to go on.

Hi Arlurt,

please let us know what you plans are whilst you're over there, as there's always a beer ready!
