hi just joined the forums. I have just repurchased the RG250 I slod to a mate after it blew a piston back in 2003. he started modding it for a yammagamma but got involved with a woman & it sat in his garage gathering dust. not sure whether it will go back as standard or carry on the conversion yet, will have to see how it goes.

Welcome. Thanks for posting something straight away, and well done on rescuing your old bike. We look forward to seeing you put it back where it belongs. Very Happy

Can't go wrong either way. Pros and cons for both.

Only drawback I see as far as restoring the rg250 engine are the difficulty in finding parts, but hunting for parts seems to be part of the fun.
RD/RZ parts are plentiful, lots of aftermarket go fast parts too... but won't be original.

Looking forward to seeing which way you go.

"....but got involved with a woman" LOL!

Welcome aboard and good luck. Parts may not be everywhere but most stuff can be tracked down if you are patient and ask around.....but for Gods sake don't get "involved with a woman"! Stop
