Hi Guys n Gals,

recently I was asked to visit the local airfield, to grab some shots for the Air Training Corps, as they were being treated to a fight in an RAF Puma. This came about as circumstances didn't allow then to fly during their summer camp.

Anyway I had a chat with the flight crew (who were most accommodating), so despite the poor lighting conditions, I managed to get some good shots. The ATC members were a little surprised when I got the Puma to hover behind them!

Anyway here you go.

A fair down draught from the beast!

Then after a briefing, they were off.

On their return, the ATC lined up and the Puma took formation behind them.

Then did a nice side on aspect, with the rear crew member nicely posed.

Not something you see everyday eh!

Hi Shaun,

cheers matey, I try my best with my camera's!

I'm more of a Mini-Me, than a Bond.

The AR's off the road now until I get a new piston n rings + get the barrel honed, do you have any recommendations for this?

Yet more great pics. I happened to be near Dickleburgh on Thursday and passed the USAF 100th Bomb Group Memorial Museum. An Apache called in and landed to pay respects and support the curators and volunteers ... unfortunately didn't have a camera!

Week before two USAF Typhoons performed a fast low pass ... would have been nice to see that

Hi Emzedder,

thanks matey.

Shame you didn't have a camera with you.

By the way Typhoons are RAF aircraft, not USAF, so I wonder if you saw some of their F15 Eagles (based at Lakenheath) or some to their F22 Raptors (which were on detachment to Lakenheath and are expected to return to the USA during Sunday and Monday?

PJME are worth a shout.
If you send them your barrel and ask for a hone and matching new piston and rings they do a sterling job. If it needs a rebore and ports dressing, they will do that too. They are not too expensive. If you drop off then its cheaper .. The packing service is detailed on their site. They are in Wolverhampton.

https://www.pjme.co.uk/acatalog/Cylinder_Re-Boring.html

Or Mick Abbey if you also want it tuning, but he will need the head too for that. Near Harrogate.

Don't know any others near you. Perhaps others will know closer engineers that you can trust?

Hope that helps

Hey Shaun,

by total fluke I found PJME's before I saw your reply and sent them an e-mail, so it looks like that's the direction I'll be taking.

Thanks for your reply.
