is a road / track day bike I am building with parts sourced (mostly) from the Yahoo! Japan auction site and with the help of a few friends here in the UK (take a bow Alan and Nick) who have very kindly donated some of their spares.

Once the frame had arrived, I could set about the test-build, adding some parts I already had in waiting, like the swing arm and rear shock....................

the rear sub frame and mudguard..............

2T oil and radiator header tanks + front fairing bracket.................

and a "restricted" (to 180 kmh) clockset...............

airbox and carb solenoids...........

fitted..............

doesn't look much, but it's a start................... Wink

spent a couple of hours in the garage tonight fitting brackets (kindly supplied by Nick69) and the wiring loom.................

it's a big help when you have a parts book and another VJ23 in the garage for reference..............

put the frame onto my home made, Heath Robinson-esque frame stand to allow easier, one-man fitting of the rear wheel..................

then unpacked the 2 rear wheels that have arrived from Japan............

the wheel furthest from view is the one I bought just for the rear disc, and was much cheaper than buying a second-hand disc - go figure................. :-/
Although the auction only displayed pictures of the wheel and disc, when I unwrapped it I found, to my surprise, that they had included some extras............

a complete sprocket carrier assembly, fitted with a new 40 tooth alloy sprocket and a set of rear wheel spacers Very Happy

with the disc removed and re-fitted to the other wheel, along with the spare sprocket and carrier, it was time to fit it into the swingarm. This is where my frame stand comes into it's own - I simply tie the front end down with an adjustable strap, lift the wheel in with one hand and push the spindle through with the other - easy-peasy Cool

then release the strap, and it's half a rolling chassis...........

need some forks now.................. Wink
