Quiet on here innit ? Laughing

We get that Facebook has made forums like this almost redundant now, it's just too easy to post your photos or questions immediately on there and get instant responses, why would you bother using sites like this ? We're just as guilty of that too.

Those of you that still occasionally look on here, how are you ? Hopefully you've all bounced back since The World Turned To Shit four and a half years ago, but we know that's not the case for everyone. Crying or Very sad

There are no plans to pull the plug on all this btw. We haven't done a bike show since Stafford 2019 and we haven't particularly missed them if we're honest. We don't really know where to go with Diff'rent Strokers now but we're open to suggestions.

Let us know what you're up to these days, it doesn't have to be about bikes, maybe your life has taken a diff'rent path. Just say hello so we know you're still there. Whereever you are, we sincerely hope you've got a smile on your face. Thumbs Up

Hello ,

I don't 'do' facebook so only lurk around on bike forums , so happy that this is still going . On the bike front I've still got my TDR250 and 350LC and a couple of 4 strokes . I'm hoping to get out more ,but as we all know the weather has been pants for weeks now.
All the best , and thanks for keeping this website going
Mike .

Hello.
I have just done the welsh classic festival on my R1Z 250 over 2days and was very lucky with the weather, and had a great time. Oh and turned 66 this week,

Confused Had to pack work in at Christmas due to a bad back, that is what working on cars for 50 years does to you, back still bad but can still ride the bikes, Very Happy

Finding more and more that I'm bombarded with too much irrelevant stuff on FB, whereas here its exactly the type/level/topics that I want to read.

Currently stalled on my SDR rebuild project thread but hope to update it soon. Cleaning up the chassis has been like refurbishing the Forth Road Bridge - each time you think youre done then you find something else!

In the interim I've been travelling France and Spain, and putting more UK mileage on my TZR250. Making hay whilst the sun shines so the SDR has taken a back seat until I start burning the midnight oil again.

We spent the weekend at the Suzuki Live event at Cadwell Park, run brilliantly as usual by Classic Bike Trackdays. Lots of photos on our Facebook page, and now on our main website too - see HERE.

We bumped into several people we've met at previous events, many of which have helped us out putting our show displays on or attending one of our rideouts. They were surprised we didn't have a stand there, and frankly we wish we had. Having done nothing official with DS since Stafford 2019, we're thinking it might be time to gently kick things back into life. Watch this space.

We had a great time chilling in the sun and catching up with you all, so thank you, we needed that. Not Worthy

And now, with my other hat on (for those that don't know, I run this whole shambles)...

Various life/work stuff has meant that bikes have taken a very distant back seat since 2019. None of them are currently on the road, and if I had any spare time and motivation, most of 'em would be sold. I'm a very different person to the one I was 5 years ago.

I spent this weekend at Cadwell Park, chilling out in the sun with a few mates that I see once a year or even less, and admiring some lovely kit around the paddock and on track. I even went for a ride - Suzuki UK kindly let me loose on their GSX-8R demo bike, a bit of a culture shock for someone who's only experience is of 30-year old clunkers with flat tyres, warped brakes and various leaks. Not to mention it was the first time I'd been out on a bike for well over a year.

I need to take some of my life back. I think a motorcycle might help me do that. I need something I can just stick a key in and ride out to the coast on, that won't let me down. Not a GSX-8R - it was very impressive but it's not really me and the modern trend for bee-sting tailunits isn't very conducive to taking Mrs.S on the back. I don't know why all modern bikes have to look like an insectoid alien robot from the future, or an adventure bike.

It'll have to be a Suzuki though. The new Katana might have been a contender but the same applies to the pillion seat, and a couple of mates who've had one say they need quite a bit of work to get them fully sorted. I can't walk past a GSX1400 without admiring its beefy looks though so probably one of those then.

But that'll mean getting rid of most of the others. Make me an offer...

Me too, been enjoying track days on my R1Z but been thinking about selling my 1100 katana and getting a later Triumph Bonneville, glad I got that off my chest.

I sold a bike yesterday. Doesn't happen very often. A very small step towards getting my life back in order. Goodbye Edna.

Currently concentrating on the rebuild of my SDR so have put my R1 4XV up for sale to gain more working space. Realistically I rarely use it so it will hopefully go to a good home and not be gathering dust in the garage.
