MOT time. Was gonna fit new exhaust gaskets but retightening the slack bolts on the rear pot stopped it blowing. Very Happy

I replaced all of the brakelines with some I had specially made up a couple of years ago and never fitted. New stainless banjo bolts and nipples all round plus all new copper washers and fluid of course. Cleaned up the pistons a bit too as the rear brake used to stick on a bit due to lack of use. Embarassed

It passed. Cool Re-taxed it for 12 months too. Let's see if I can put more kms on it than the 25 the MOT certificate says I managed last year... Eh?

OK, while all you saps were glued to the Royal Wedding coverage on TV last Friday Wink I decided to gaffa-tape my £1.99 chinese mini-cam to the ol' Tandem-Twin and get some proper video clips. The sound quality is terrible, especially front-facing, but here you go anyway :

Clip 1 / Clip 2 / Clip 3

Not much new to report. The red/black one still looks pretty tatty but I've been doing various jobs on it recently with a view to taking it for an MOT soon. Need to sort tyres and brakes then it should be fit.

The green/white one is on the road, and I'm being leaned on do the Cadwell trackday on it next month. Rolling Eyes

The special hasn't progressed I'm afraid, though I have cleaned up the KVSS top-end. If you stumble over a tandem-twin for sale and you think it might be an 'S', you need to look at the LHS of the engine for the big fat pipe that connects the extra chambers in the heads, and the round servo underneath that operates the linkages to the butterfly valves. If it's got both, buy it (then sell it to me). Very Happy

Well, both me and the bike survived Friday, on Cadwell full circuit. I'm never gonna set any lap records, but I managed to pick off a couple of VFR400's and even a 600 or two in my novice group most sessions. The pics don't lie though, I'm not much cop at leaning over... Embarassed

The bike got harder to start throughout the day, but didn't miss a beat once running. I had to nip up the exhaust bolts at lunchtime, it was blowing a bit from the front one. Managed 137kms over 6 sessions.

Oh, and don't take the piss out of my leathers, they were free... Wink

Big thanks to Tom Mac, who spotted a genuine Kawasaki pit-crew shirt for sale and knew it'd be the sort of thing I love. He wouldn't take any money for it either. Not Worthy

Yes, I know it needs ironing, and the garden needs weeding too... Rolling Eyes

It's not just me who gets hugely excited about a package from Japan is it ? Confused

Someone's started making aftermarket gaskets for the KR250A (not sure about the S yet, I've asked) and they're available on Ebay. My order arrived in less than 4 days direct from Japan, and - just for a change - ParcelFarce didn't ask for any import duty. Very Happy

It looks very good, certainly very comprehensive. I'd been thinking I should get off my arse and commission some myself, but I couldn't have done as good a job as this. Thumbs Up

Looking at their site all the gasket sets are reasonably priced.. AR125 is £7 KR1 is £13 which are brilliant (just wish the postage was not so steep)..

Good find Tim Wink

Hi

I have just managed to find a gasket set for the GSXR50 / RB50. Unfortunately that site doesn't seem to list one.

Wonder if someone in the UK can copy a batch of them?

All the best

Keith
