My Mum gave me a photo on Christmas Day. It shows my late Grandad, aged 20, sat on his bike outside my Grandma's house when they were courting. I've never seen it before, in fact I never even knew he rode a bike. I love it, just thought I'd share it on here. I have no idea what the bike is by the way - the photo was taken in 1932 and anything older than an H1 is a complete mystery to me...

Great pic - and certainly "diff'rent" Wink

I haven't got a clue what it is either! I'll ask a mate to tell me what it is, but whether any of us will have heard of it is another matter entirely!!

great pic Tim!
looks like a side-valve BSA, haven't a clue which model though. They were just a bit before my time!

With a make and reg number, have you been on the DVLA website to see if it's still around...?

Nothing on the DVLA but found this info of another site I asked a few questions on

''AFD 664 issued by Dudley County Council October 1935 to July 1936''

Have you any more info Tim, looks like a PO delivery bike and also someone suggested it came fitted with a sidecar, looks about right when you look at the front tyre.

Ta. Very Happy Not really looked into it further yet, but did send the pic to Jim at Classic Bike for their back page. Hoping he writes back with some more details.
