I've bought a f**r-stroke. Sorry everyone, I'll get me coat...
It's the "Double R" Sports Production model that was released in 1989 to homologate engine and chassis changes for World Superbike racing. The Suzuki equivalent of the RC30, OW01 and ZXR750R. Only 500 built, with 50 coming to the UK priced at £8999.
I've always had a thing for unusual and limited-edition variants, and with 4 other oil-cooled GSX-R's in my history I've been looking for one of these for a while. This one was cheap (well, compared to an RC30 !) and needs a bit of work to make it really nice again.
In the unlikely event that you've got an original exhaust/silencer for one of these sitting unused in your garage, you know where I am (yeah I know, but if you don't ask you don't get ). Also any other spares, race-kit parts, manuals, parts-books, brochures etc.
Incidentally, Suzuki made two other homologation 750's : the '86 GSX-R750RG ('slabside' model with standard dry clutch, single-seat unit, steering-damper, radial tyres and electronic anti-dive) and the '94 GSX-R750WR-SP (watercooled model with close-ratio box and smoothbore carbs), neither of which were officially imported.
I only got it today. More pics and words soon when I've taken it out for a run and dared to peek behind the bodywork...

I leave the office for one day and you go and buy something reliable and four-stroke!
It looks great, well done, I'll look forward to seeing it in the car park.
Fortunately I didn't find you anything nice at the bike show, apart from the brolly-dollies, who were VERY nice...

Very nice bike , I personally think it has the best standard paint job of any bike .
I've got a GSXR750 SPR which is rather trick as it used to belong to Paul Denning ( Ex-Cresent Suzuki and now Suzuki GP top jolly ) as his track bike. It's now 100% road legal with an MOT & tax , he must have spent a absolute fortune on it and used all his race contacts to build it , just as a tease it has a tripple core rad off of an puckka RGV 500 GP bike on it . When I get time I'll post a piccy or two. It's been bored out to 884cc and has got 148hp at the rear wheel

Saturday was warm and dry so I took it out for it's first spin. Blimey it's loud ! Very easy to ride though compared to the other temperamental nonsense in my garage...
I've created a little webpage for it so I can post words and pictures on there and leave this place for proper bikes...

Hi there!
I'm REALLY pleased it rides well and that you're happy with it. It's taken a while to get out there on it... Have you had it serviced and the oil changed yet?
Where did you find the new foot rests? In that pile of bits at the breakers!?
So now we've both got bikes we know will actually start, and might start to come home as well we can have few spins to the coast, and talk about how nice it would've been to have used the "Diff'rent Strokers".
How is the 3MA?
Have fun and see you soon...

The RK has been neglected for a couple of years (too many bikes...) but I got it MOT'd 6 weeks ago and have been waiting for it to stop raining ever since. And today it did.

Ooooooh very nice that Tim
Riding it through the fields trying to avoid the police helicopter won't do the suspension much good though ... _________________ We are where we are... |

S'true, I don't bother dragging any of 'em out of the garage unless there's a chance of a photo op in a rapeseed field.
Just think it makes a nicer background than what everyone else chooses, you know, wheelie bins, kids toys, washing on the line etc... |

Nice blue on the wheelie bin, where can i get a match!
Lovely bike though, i too like the special ones, its a shame most people dont notice!
My daytona is written up as an sp on the logbook! But its not, i dont think, well if it is they did a really good job of not advertising that they did an sp and making it look exactly the same as standard, butit pulls extremely well _________________ Gagging for it |
