|
|
Hi Guys n Gals,
when I bought my AR125, it didn't have a horn, or the bracket to mount. I soon sourced replacements and fitted them yesterday but found that no sound came from it.
I checked the norn, by putting 12v across the terminals and it worked fine.
I dismantled the switch and checked the resistance, when the button was depressed and that worked fine, so it would appear there's a problem in the wiring itself.
When I next have a day off, I'll take a good look but I wonder if anyone else has had similar problems, which may speed up my progress? _________________ Kindest regards

Hi Guys n Gals,
wel I stripped down the lefthand switch gear, put everything back again and would you believe it, the bloody thing burst into life!
So while on a bit of a roll, I decided to see if the replacing of the exhaust gasket would result in a proper seal being made and, would you believe it, it did!
I cranked her up and she soon ran to a very steady idle, which made my day.
Next I found that the brake light worked, as did the instrument lights, headlamp dipped and main beams but not the tail light. So I guessed that one of the tail light bulb filaments had failed. However, when I went to put the bike back into the garage, I turned the ignition key one detent too far, to find the parking lights came on! WTF?
So it looks like more electrical tweaking will be required tomorrow. _________________ Kindest regards

Hi Guys n Gals,
I disconnected the wiring harness, clicked it back again, and it all came back to life! _________________ Kindest regards

Sounds like just dry terminals and very slight oxidation of the connectors .. Gad you sorted it out _________________ We are where we are... |

Hi Shaun,
my thoughts exactly!
Either that, or a break in the harness, when I moved it. Fingers crossed it's the former and not the latter!
Just awaiting for a delivery of a certain product that you recommended, before I go to the next stage of the build.
Looking forward to Saturday. _________________ Kindest regards
