Hi Guys n Gals,
I've been considering what colour schemes to use of my Kawasaki Tiddler, especially now that the middle section of the fairing is being lost to be chopped down to become a belly pan, or to be replaced with a genuine one if one comes up (eh Shaun) and the middle filled with a radiator shroud.
My initial plan was to have;
1,the wheels, front fork lowers and the swinging arm to be powder coated in gold.
2, the frame and engine to stay black.
3, the front mudguard, fuel tank, side panels and rear panel to be painted in white (poss metallic or pearl) and finished off with black & light grey decals.
Now a mate of mine (Woz) suggested that I stick with the original red/black, with the standard gold wheels and swinging arm, until I mentioned that a colour I've always liked was the metallic burnt orange!
So what I'd really appreciate would be your thoughts as to what schemes you Guys n Gals would use, if you had an AR125 to tinker with and why?
So come on, lets get some artistic flair going but only with schemes that are manageable (not intricate murals and stuff like that)! _________________ Kindest regards

Well I've got loads of pictures of ARs but trying to find one in your combination is proving difficult.. So I've given up for now and thought I would post a few ideas.. Some wacky to be fair.. Plenty of yellow but not gold?
If you wanted green, white, red, black or even blue it would have been easier..lol
Hope these don't frighten you too much

Hi Shaun,
I really like the looks of the narrow belly pan. Do you reckon it's likely that one may come up for grabs?
As for the colours, the one that appeals most to me is the brochure shot in white but we'll see eh. _________________ Kindest regards

I agree about the colour scheme, the Brochure photo is the one for me.
Maybe with a white and striped belly pan...? _________________ Light is right. |

Morning Shaun,
so do they still make the AR125 for the Thai market then and, if they do, are the parts interchangeable? _________________ Kindest regards

Hi Reggie
No the AR was made around the same time as it was sold in Japan / UK
The picture in the line up are E1 models from 2983/4
The difference is Kawasaki Thailand / Malaysia/ Indonesia etc sold more bikes across Asia and were allowed to make many parts under license
They are still running out of parts, just around ten years behind the UK supplies

Orange of course was once a Kawasaki race colour, as was red too - so it fits with the pedigree
I have one in a bronze colour that needs restoration and will post a couple of pics when I gat home.
I really like the burnt orange _________________ We are where we are... |

Early KH125 / GTO wheels should fit no problem if you fancy wire spoked wheels. You will need the KH front disk too as its offset to fit the calliper.
The speedo drive should work no problem with this option.
I quite fancied doing this a few times with Anodised rims to give it funky character. I have a picture of one somewhere and will post later

Ooh colour, white as in brochure but Kawasaki green is hard to beat.
I would have thought there were loads of unused AR spoked wheels laying about in Thailand/Malaysia etc
Wonder how much a set of NOS cast wheels are worth nowadays |
