Yes, it's a Puch Maxi. Don't be offended. Bought as a wreck to restore and learn the basics of how to tune 2 stroke.
Single speed kickstart model + centrifugal clutch. Polini 64cc reed valve cylinder, needle bearing crank, big pipe, customised clutch and regulated 12v CDI with curve.
Built semi-sleeper style to bypass traffic jams and hit 55mph if needed - on private roads of course

No-one's offended. Even if it was stock it'd be welcome on here. The fact that it's got a dirty secret just makes it even more cool. |

Brilliant. A modded slightly different 2 stroke is always good. You'll get more reaction (good and bad )from people on that, than on any standard machine. |

Great looking Maxi N! I build/ride/sell pedal peds as a hobby. I've been dying to get my hands on a rigid N frame!!
Don't want to take the thread off course, but here's a couple of my peds in my collection still
My first ped I bought about 5 years ago. 77 Garelli SSXL;
In this photo it's running a 70cc polini top end with milled head, mikuni vm20, Trickmetric Hammer clutch to eliminate the rubber drive clutch, puch maxi ebr forks with tomos sweeper mags. I've since pulled the engine for another garelli, and plan to do my first two wheeled engine swap with a Honda Hobbit engine/subframe on this one.
Tomos Colibri;
This was a custom moped that Moto-Matic for Sapporo beer company. Sapporo gave them away as prizes on a photo contest. I got this from the original owners friend after it broke down on him. 25 total built, only 7 or so still here in the States. Took me just over 2 years to finally bring it home;
My current small engine lover is my derbi I finally picked up last year. Took me so long to find one broken and rough. I have a stash of performance parts to go on it. Can't wait to dig into this one!! Will be running a metra kit and rarer metra crank, weekends pipe, and a slew of other stuff. Should be a hoonie bike for sure
Since I bought that one I have gone a little nuts buying/building/selling peds. It's a nice little niche market here where I am. Lots of enthusiasts across the country so easy to unload and not many people around here that mess with them so they're easy to pick up for dirt cheap. Just last night I sold my 100th moped! Here was a collection I bought and sold last summer;

Nice bikes. My old mother as a KTM in the shed. It looks exactly the same as the maxi.
One day i will have to dig it out and have a play. You do need the cross bar on them as the tank rusts. The tank is the frame |

woah that's a lot of mopeds! this one has taken me a while to get tuned nicely and really dialled in, there's still more to be had from it, it's been a learning curve, small strokers are quite finicky to say the least |

Nice one emzedder, I've got one of those in bits, started to 'restore' it with my daughter, then came across a problem as the rear sprocket is lased into the rear wheel with the spokes, and the sprocket is worn out. Now stuck and don't know how to progress. Got any more pics?? |

Sort of off road look due to 21" tyres in the standard "Kings" pattern being totally unobtainable ... gives it an agricultural look but probably pretty puncture resistant!
SP-BOTT ... I have the original owners handbook/workshop notes if you want me to copy them ... I reckon try the guy at Mopedland in Ipswich, he has loads of spares and even more knowledge ... he is hoping to import a batch of 21's from Far East but not available until he has seen a set with delivery spring / summer 2017 _________________ If it don't ring-a-ding-ding it ain't worth a thing |
