Old bikes in new bike shops.. I wonder if the old bikes you saw Tim are for show and not for sale?? I see this in my local 'new bike dealers' showrooms all the time too - they do it to draw people in, inspire conversation and of course... Sell the newer bikes (not the old stuff). Many of the old interesting two stroke bikes belong to shop customers who have loaned them for display only.

I've loaned bikes to newer dealership shops a few times myself.
Little more reluctant nowadays though after one shop lost the keys .. And one shop went into administration ...

I spoke to the first bike shop owner, most of 'em were his own private collection but would still be sold if the right money was offered.

I think big dealerships have cottoned on to the massive classic market, so you'll often see some iconic models dotted around, either to drag punters in or just to show off the dealer's own collection (which is the case with the Yamaha's in the second shop I went to).

And as you say, sometimes they're just loaned by trusting customers. The 1100H in the first shop wasn't for sale, he'd taken it as trade in on a new bike, then the guy had suffered "seller's remorse" so he sold it him back. It still lives in the showroom though as the owner doesn't have room for two.

Is there anything more exciting than a package from Japan ? As usual, this one came exquisitely wrapped, complete with handwritten note and a home-made origami crane for good luck. ありがとうございますしんごーさん。

Seeing those pictures of the lc at the Humber bridge reminded me when I bought my lc back in 1983. I rode from Bolton to the bridge just to get this photo. think it had been open only a couple of years. I rode down a unfinished road to get the shot. I still own the lc today a bought it back in 1998 I am its 2nd and 12th owner what is the chance of that. Sorry about the photo think it was taken on a 110 camera.

I've ordered something for my LC. It's the equivalent of a Yoshimura sticker on a GSX-R, or a pair of furry dice in a 2.0 Capri... Cool

It's a boost bottle. Some people swear they add horsepower and smooth out power delivery, others say it's bollocks. I don't care either way. Laughing

Nice one Tim... bit of Bling eh.. akin to go faster stripes so should add zillions of hp... let us know if it actually does anything - seat of the pants dyno will do whether you take your furry dice or not. Genuinely interested Smile
