any one know what the gap between pulley andjuster plate on the
oil pump should be.

Sorry no! but if you search online i'm sure ive seen it on an owners manual, it's in Japanese but i think it has pictures

The workshop manual says to remove the spark plug, slowly operate the kickstart lever, then measure the clearance between the adjuster pulley and the adjustment plate with a feeler gauge. Do this two or three times - the maximum gap obtained from these two or three measurements will be the existing minimum stroke. The specified minimum stroke is 0.15-0.20mm, so the existing shim can be replaced by one of different thickness if the existing minimum stroke is not within the range specified (Shim Part No.137-13137-00, various sizes).
There is a warning that after any adjustment, the lock nut should be tightened securely and the measurement made again to confirm the minimum stroke is within specification.

This is not something I worry about - my SDR hasn't got the oil pump! However, I hope the above info eliminates any confusion surrounding the measurement and the specification Cool .
