When you first register with this board, it automatically sends you an email. When you're authenticated, it sends another one. Put in a false email address (eg. spammers ) and it gets bounced, so we get a failure notice at this end.
However, it seems to be bouncing genuine 'hotmail.com' addresses too. I think the problem is within Hotmail - it thinks emails from this site are spam and rejects them. There's nothing I can do this end, so please bear in mind if you register using a hotmail address you might not get all the helpful messages that everyone else sees. |

Just moving this topic up to the top.
A few recent users have registered Hotmail addresses. This is fine as far as we're concerned, but Hotmail seems to think we're a spammer so the automatic emails that the forum sends out saying 'welcome to the forum' or 'someone has sent you a message' etc. don't get through. We can tell 'cos they get bounced back to the Admin address.
Again, not a problem, but just wanted Hotmail users to know about it. If you are a Hotmail user and you do receive the emails OK, please let us know. |

This problem also seems to affect '@AOL.COM' email addresses.
It's fine for you to use that as your registered email address on here but you should be aware that some or all of the auto-generated emails (eg. to notify you that someone has sent you a PM) will get bounced back.
Don't know why, sorry - we suspect AOL thinks emails from here are spam and rejects them. |

Just a reminder : if you use a hotmail email address to register on here, you'll never get any of the email notifications sent by the forum ("you have a new private message" etc.). |
