I finally stripped the bike down and got the frame powder coated...
This is what it looked like afterwards...
Looks brand new...
Well worth the £80 to powder coat the frame and bottom yoke...
I remembered to put old bolts in all the threads to keep them clear..

It was a 3 week wait at the powder coaters....
but its so nice to start building it up again...
Like putting a big jigsaw puzzle back together..

OMG.....in a rush to put it together iv put the front forks the wrong way round..
The speedo cable guide should be at the BACK of the mudguard...
That will teach me to rush it so i could wheel it about easier....

Thank you...

Cant believe iv had my gamma 9 years..

Iv got 2 complete spare engines...

Some of the bike shop around me wont touch 2 strokes.. ( especially ones that are over 30 years old...)
They're frightened the engine will blow up 10 miles down the road and dont want the hassle...

Iv found a very helpful scooter dealer in verwood that likes working on my bike..
They work on vespa and lambretta's all day..

Thats looking good!

Were the RG80's ever popular or even sold in the UK?

Same bike just with the smaller motor.

RG80 frame has engine mounts in diffrent places...

Lots of parts are the same..
Brakes...Wheels...Forks..swingarm....all fairings + side panels...Tank..Handle bars..

But the RG80 Tail piece has 4 holes in cause it has a grab rail...

Iv owned 5 RG125 gamma's...

Ah I see, so similar rather than same.

Good to know, might have one some day

I would have thought the 125 would need the grabrail more than the 80!

I like the way they have masked off the frame number so it is perfectly visible....
They've coated over it with something to stop it rusting.....
That will keep the MOT man happy.....
