I've been after something a little bit different to my 350LCs for a while now and last year i bought an unfinished project VJ21 off ebay with plans for sorting it out etc. but with along with many other plans, having no free time has prevented anything happening. So, I saw this one on ebay about a month ago and missed the end of the auction as I was driving home, but the bloke who bought it stuck it back on ebay a few days ago. I made him a silly offer and now its mine (he has not ended his auction yet and its been bid up way beyond what i paid him for it)
Its a jap import, i'm the third UK owner (according to the V5)
the pics make it look better than it is. the bloke I bought it off had filled the gearbox full, because the oil light came on and then put pre mix in it
It needs chain and sprockets and the I believe the carbs need cleaning as it revs fine with no load, but as soon as you try and pull away it bogs and dies. There's a few little bits missing or that need replacing.
Also does anyone know if the forks are standard? there's adjusters top and bottom and I can't remember seeing any on my other VJ21 (which is buried in the shed so I can't check it)
the plan is just to get it MOTed and Taxed and have some fun on it _________________ my TDRs from over the years:

Nice one Tom ! I was watching that on Ebay (no intention of bidding though ). Pepsi colours really suit the VJ21. |

Think they may be SP forks.
Defo not standard spec anyway.
Love to see VJ21's going to good homes _________________ RGV250L VJ21 x1

according to the lads on www.rgv250.co.uk/forums it could well be an SP, its got the forks, close ratio gearbox and adjustable rear shock so I'm well pleased
Cheers

Did you see this one on Ebay too ? It sold and, well, let's just say I think it might be appearing on here in a few days...

Very nice, was going to bid him if it did not sell.
Don't like the pipes personally, should be one either side.
Looks in good condition and looks like a SP again as well. _________________ RGV250L VJ21 x1

I'm the guilty party - the RGV is now in the garage! All I need to do now is put some new rubber on it before the MOT and get it registered . . . can't wait to sit in the local DVLA office for hours
As for the RGV - it's cleaned up well and seems spot on, runs sweet and everything works. Apart from the tyres I need to replace some decals and get dentmaster out for a ding in the tank - oh, and get some mirrors (I assume SP mirrors aren't different to the 'normal' VJ21?) _________________ Bikes: www.diffrentstrokers.com
