Sorry for the rapid fire q's below....

Any tips? There are so many wires and bits I am concerned about getting them back in the right places during reassembly.

I was thinking I could disconnect every wire/cable and tie them off in the general area from where the motor came out.

I also was thinking I could disconnect the carbs from the motor and leave them hanging (with zip tie).

How heavy is that little motor? Doesn't look like much compared to my old ZX11 that's for sure.

Tony.

They're very straightforward to remove, but the first time is always a little disconcerting

My tips:

Remove the seat unit as well as the tank to get more light in and make life easier.

Yes, it's good idea to remove the carbs and hang them up out of the way.

Remove the clutch cable at the lever end rather than the motor end and just feed it down on top of the motor

Remove oil feed pipe, seal with an M6 bolt or something, and disconnect the oil pump cable

Disconnect the generator wiring, neutral switch, temp sender wiring, PV cables, chain and anything else that still connects the motor to the chassis.

Remove the side motor hanging plates

support the motor with a jack or something

Remove the top rear mount

Slacken the allen pinch bolt from the lower mounting and then slacken and remove that one whilst supporting/lowering the motor.

You won't need an 'assistant' as the motor is light enough to manhandle easily on your own.

When putting it back in it's easiest to put the lower rear bolt in fisrt and then simply swing it upwards from that pivot point.

Good luck

..and take lots of pictures of cable/wire/pipe routing. Not that I've ever taken one out, but it's the same for everything. Very Happy
