Hi

I've just joined the forum and would appreciate any advice on 2 current problems with my 87 2MA.

I have a split in the exhaust on the inside of the first bend in the pipe. Is this a common problem? The rest of the exhaiust looks in good condition. Is it worth trying to get it welded up or do I need to get a new system? Where can I get new exhausts if I need to get one?

The bike hasn't run for about 18 months and every time I put it in gear the engine stalls because of clutch drag. I have stipped the clutch and washed the friction plates in petrol. The clutch looks in good condition, the friction plates are within thickness spec and the steel plates are flat. I've got the right grade of oil in it. Do I need to replace the friction plates?

Any advice much appreciated

thanks

Norm
