You are right...
The cases are black
I will get them painted and will use them on the MK1
Thanks very much
Should have looked better didn't realize about the gray and black
They were very cheap
I bought the cases for 5 GBP
And there where also 2 cilinders 1 used and 1 new for 5 GBP
It was a bit off a suprise that i was the only bidder.
Have a nice weekend

Had loads of grief, but finally, tonight SHE LIVES.....only running on 1 and Half ,the Right cylinder wont chime in properly, and isn't smoking as much as the left side.
Still, no rattles or knocks sounds sweet so far.... _________________ Breathing new life into an old Gamma!

Great, she's running, finally.
That must have felt sweet
What was the problem with the ignition by the way? |

I changed the CDI for a used one.....had sparks galore!! Look like I need to have another look at the right hand carb now. They are b4st4rds to get off and back on again, too!!
Hope its the carb and not the crank seals or reed valves.....
And, thanks, it did feel great to hear it start...the 1st kick and u hear the burble, then 2nd kick and it runs for a second or two, then after a couple minutes of tinkering.....it starts 1st kick and ticks over!! Great feeling! _________________ Breathing new life into an old Gamma!

UPDATE!!
It was the pilot jet blocked in the right carb. Sounds sweet now! I'm getting a dab hand at getting carbs off and on, on this bike!! _________________ Breathing new life into an old Gamma!

Just an update.....Having originally rebuilt the engine, I discovered a weep from the head gasket, so maxed out the torque on the head bolts, having torqued to the lower threshold when first assembled, only for a bolt to snap!! Ordered another gasket set off Fleabay, and a new bolt. Replaced the gasket, to find coolant leaking out all around the head.....a rubbish, pourous gasket!! So I decided to fit a genuine gasket, which has a list price of £67!!! Robinsons let me have one for £45, fitted that, and job done!! It seems that coolant had leaked into the left pot, and straight down the exhaust......it now spits a milky, oily gunk outta the left pipe!!! Needs a run to clear it out!!!
The tank has gone to Dream Machine and should be 4 to 6 weeks. All other panels I can paint myself, or I have NOS ones ready. _________________ Breathing new life into an old Gamma!

Tank finally back from Dream Machine, and NOS top fairing fitted....
Not totally satisfied with Dream Machine to be honest, I'll tell them what I think on Monday. _________________ Breathing new life into an old Gamma!

Yes thank you Erik, I have a dealer set up manual which has lots of useful info, if you don't have this, I'd be happy to scan it and email it to you. Info it contains is Kick Start position, handle bar lever angle etc. Its pointless on the whole, but its nice to know you've done it right. _________________ Breathing new life into an old Gamma!

You are right the set-up manual has usefull drawings
I have them also.
Is your bellypan new?
I have like you a brand new top fairing but it doesn't fit the fairing bracket the way it should.
I think my bracket is bent.
Don't think mr Suzuki would want met to force the new fairing in place........
Will keep trying to find a new one
At the moment trying the get the old one in shape again.
All the best

Yes, the fairing bracket!! I spent hours heating and bending to get the clocks, fairing and mirrors to fit well, with some success, however when I fitted the screen, it was clear that the fairing was twisted....I was browsing Yahoo Auction Japan and saw there was a guy breaking an RG250, and had shown the bike prior to dismantling and it was a great bike with no crash damage. I bought the bracket and test fitted it today. It fits beautifully, better than my original bike did all those years ago. That's the problem with accident damaged brackets, they never fit right after a crash.
I need to get this replacement bracket powder coated now. _________________ Breathing new life into an old Gamma!

I think its the best option to go and search for a good one.
Will search Yahoo more often.
All the best
