MX (and other good bike) shops generally sell suitable air filter foam from which you can easily cut a new one. Alternatively, just wrapping the plastic filter retaining element in a pair of her old tights will give the motor enough protection for a day on the track. She could go up a size on the mains if concerned, but if it's standard she won't blow it up if its a fraction leaner on the lower cyl.

Alternativley try B&C express. They used to stock Moto-air filters for the3XV so may still have some in stock? Webbs (in Lincoln) might have an oem one in stock too?

Luck

I know you have got it sorted but thought there might be others who are interested...

There is a guy on the RD forum selling pipercross filters for the 3XV that are getting good raps...

Worth getting in touch with him.
