I can remember early in 1988, it was a Wednesday (MCN day). Top of page 3, there it was, the Yamaha TDR250. I had to have one, and on April 13th, I did.
Kept it for a year or so, then sold it to fund my RoadRacing exploits on a KX500 (befor ethe term Supermoto was widespread).
Never forgot the TDR, always hankered after another. Browsing ebay one day in November '03, I spotted a familiar TDR. A few e-mails later, I had established that it was indeed my bike, still owned by the same guy I sold it to 13 years earlier. Whats more, he'd only put approx 4k miles on it, and it was almost exactly as I'd sold it. Ended up buying it back for £500 less than I'd sold it. Here it is shortly after I'd regained it:
Made a few mods:
TZR250 3MA SP swingarm
R6 front caliper
Cagiva Planet/Mito Wheels
DEP Pipes
Renthals etc
Don't do many road miles on it (it's still got less than 10K original miles!), but I have discovered trackdays:
It will stay this way for a while, as I'm concentrating on my hybrid...http://diffrentstrokers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=43#43 _________________

I've gotta get myself another TDR...
I had one brand new back in 1988 too. Kept it 18 months then swapped it for a GSX-R750. Yeah, I know...
