Hi Guys - i am new to the forum
have owned a reverse cylinder 250 for many many years
want to get it mot'd so i can get some use out of it this summer
the rear brake master cylinder appears to have perished rubbers and i need to replace / repair it
does anyone know what other yamaha's use the cylinder - i doubt it is unique to the 3ma
loving the web site and the oddball bikes on here ! |

Hi;
You will need to buy oem parts to repair the caliper, they are quite expensive. Never seen after market brake kits but that doesnt mean it doesnt excist. Think e-bay will be the answer or yambits in the uk. Dont know what other bikes use the same calipers but my guess is it will be tdr and tzr models.

You can get the part-numbers off Pure 2-stroke Spirit.
Looks like '47X-W0042-50' covers the rear m/cyl kit, but you'd better check. Think that model code is RD500LC ?
Give Webbs of Lincoln or Fowlers of Bristol a call - both are recommended, you can even get a discount if you tell 'em you're on the TZR/TDR/RD forums.
Or try CMSNL - they list it as in stock but you have to take that with a pinch of salt. Their site is useful for cross-checking part-numbers and looking at exploded parts diagrams too. |

If you need the whole m/cyl, you might be better off just trying something off another model, from ebay, a breaker or an autojumble. |
