Right, seen as the tzr250.com forum is down I will continue on here for the mean time, as you can see in the vid the bike is missing a few parts, By next week I should have had the parts bead blasted and sprayed and run in done. Then it is onto the real fun part, tuning. oh yes, and I have to get the flickers and neutral light to work.
My set up at the moment:
standard 3ma1 carbs (32mm)
320 mains
standard needle jets
standard needles set to highest position(richest in mid range)
performance exhausts(thinner ones, will try other ones after run in)
snorkels cut
130 fixed air jet (mod)
everything else standard.

Hi Luke;
I am currently also testing setup same as you. I just have the bottom half of the airbox fitted not the complete airbox. I also started with 130 fixed air jet and 250 main fuel jet. You will find that needle clip position is very important as my setup is very rich at 5-6 thousand rpm. This is because with the vaj system fitted all airjets are open so you need more fuel and the needle provides that at 6000 rpm. I am going smaller on mains and air jet 220 main jet with 100 air and then test the nedle clip positions.

Hi Edd
Dont you think you should try the needle in a lower position first before you change the main jets. the needle and needle jet will have full effect from about 2/4 - 3/4 throttle. rather keep the main jet as big as possible so you dont risk it being lean in the top end, and fiddle with the needle/needle jet to get the bike right at mid throttle/rev positions.
What is the bike sounding like in the top end?
What pipes do you have?
