|
|
Should never have sold it.
Imported a 2001 KSR80 back in 04 and it was a really usable bike. for some reason i sold it in 2007 - 2008 for next to nothing, and after passing through a few "hands" i spotted it on ebay and made an offer - and now have it back.
Well so much for caring owners, someone has decided to "upgrade" the tail light assembly with some aftermarket shite, aftermarket levers that dont fit and keep the front brake on. blowing exhaust, and in general abused conditon with bits missing.
So looking forward to getting it back into a usable condition and having fun on it again.
Need to source some levers, mirrors, a top end gasket set and of course a tail light and undertray. |

The cylindre head gasket and expansion gasket are stil available (at least last year). Base gaskets are NLA.
I'm not sure but I think I've got a tail light and undertray _________________ NS400R, YSR50, YSR125, Banshee, TDR250, KTM 500MX, Bimota V-Due, TDR80, Harris Rotax 250... |

wow thanks, dont suppose you have part numbers do you please ?
i will try and order some from somewhere.
i read this motor is a KDX 80 engine, anything else share this motor ? or other parts transferable ?
am going to try and get a shock for the 110 and see if it will fit.
Cheers

I've got a parts-list and a workshop manual (in japanese ).
I'll scan the engine section for you but, if I remember correctly, pistons are NLA. I put a Polini piston originaly designed for a Piaggio scooter in mine (needs a thicker base gasket). _________________ NS400R, YSR50, YSR125, Banshee, TDR250, KTM 500MX, Bimota V-Due, TDR80, Harris Rotax 250... |

just revisting this, got the bike back home today and so far so good.
the aftermarket tail can easily be swopped with the OE one - same with indicator lenses.
levers are all sorted
bike scrubbed up well but it does need some bits
the throttle cable feels bad, cable is frayed and looking poor at the top so needs a new one, also the twistgrip looks in bad shape too.
chain looks like its been in the sea.
sprockets look ok but will replace anyway
the air intake side of the carb - snorkel is rock hard and needs replacing.
mirrors are missing so need to source some nice ones to suit.
dont suppose you know what size exhaust gasket these use would you ?

Its a solution you gently warm it in and it stays nice and bendy just like new! _________________ Gagging for it |

yet again, top marks and thanks for that.
now if i could hassle / trouble you once again.
Could you possibly i beg you for a picture of the temp gauge and sender wiring ?
mine has the sender in the top of the rad but nothing connected. i can see 2 bullet connectors not doing anything.
Dont suppose you have a wiring diagram ?
i need a throttle cable / twistgrip.
the chimp that "upgraded" mine has stretched mine and trimmed the throttle grip pulley area to make it "fit" (why do people do this stuff ? they really should not be allowed tools)
so would you happen to either have part numbers, or know of a throttle plastic twist tube that is the same in the kawa range ? perhaps AR80 ?
the cable bit i need is the top part but would settle for the lot.
i removed the airbox and fixed the snorkel to the carb before attaching the snorkel back to the air box body so thats all done.
exhaust exit is bad news, so need to find some 20mm pipe to attach or get something welded back on.
genuine mirrors are required too.
new tyres
And for sure i need a head and base gasket at the very least. i want to refresh the top end. |

I think I have a twistgrip and probably the other part you need. I have a mirror but not sure it's an genuine one.
I also have the wiring diagram (I'll scan it @ work on monday).
