Well hi guys. fairly new to this forum, found a little ar125 and fell in love.
i don't know much about 2 strokes. but from what i have been reading so far there fun. i'm just looking around to gather some knowledge
here is what it looks like currently. bad i know. but POTENTIAL
i have the fairings tucked away.
[s]but i am missing a barrel.. if anyone can help me out with one it would be greatly appreciated Many thanks. [/s] all sorted thanks to top-shaggy
EDIT:
Manifold painted
may upload a vid of it running by next friday (wish me luck)
ITEMS ON THE WAY!
Throttle cable.
New connecting rod.
some seals and bearings.
Ignition barrel. (may or may not have a snapped key in side )
some new stainless nut and bolts
Top-shaggys highly prised engine barrel
gasket set.
A FULL BIKE HOPEFULLY
Would these pass an mot?
there clean were the fork travel is concerned.
Engine back together and in!
Thankfully the spare head that came with it was in perfect condition (unlike the one on the bike in the picture at the top, came with 2 spare carbs too, but the one on the engine just needed freed up.
START UP VIDEO!

That looks like a great starting point to meeeeee and its in the fastest colours (green)
What model is it? Looks like a B7/B8?
If you have the fairings then that will save you grief / cost as they are getting mega rare. Great to see the rear mudguard has not been cut down so you just need the reflector if your rebuilding to original spec.
From the pic it looks like the barrel is on the engine? Is this now missing?
Looking forward to pictures of the build, love to see little ARs making a come back as they where a best kept secret and not many around now... Unlike RDs that seem two a penny (lol.. Not that I'm biased lol)
Cheers
Shaun

Good init.. Thanks for letting us squat here
No forum caters for the little AR, the nearest site of any worth is the KR1S forum and the KR250 section. The 125cc forum is just for newer bikes and the other marques (yam, Suzuki, Honda, cagiva, aprillia etc... Oh and the boring Chinese diesels)
Until the TZR forum goes own again... Us AR fans will hog the space _________________ We are where we are... |

And quite right too
I reckon you have got a good project there 'The NewGuy', I have been promising myself an Ar125 for years now but alas it is not to be.
Not yet anyway
But welcome to the world of 2 stroke ownership, It won't be long before you're after a 250 & if I may, I would just like to suggest a Kr1 or 1s, you don't want one of those johnny foreigner TZR's......... |

Yes indeed.. A Kawasaki KR-1S ...the world record holding fastest 250cc production bike... in fast green to match the AR...
Oh um... Very nice idea that Mr Howie _________________ We are where we are... |

Im following with interest! As iv said before im pretty new to this forum but so far everyone seems pretty good apart from guys just wanting ar wheels!
I work away alot so my ysr pics are not up yet but they will be, probably better go in the yam section though!
The little ysr is much like the ar though in that no one really caters for them online but it is a two stroke so here i am!
Looking foward to seeing this build progress and if i can help in anyway i will but i dont have any specialist services to offer just many years of tearing two strokes apart and often tuning till they tear themselves apart!
The best advice i can however give for tuning strokers however is let a pro do it! Its very easy to get it wrong! _________________ Gagging for it |

There's a dedicated UK Gag Bike Forum but it's pretty much dead these days.
I was asked to take it over, but I have far too much on my plate already. |

Ouch !
Looks like your con rod suffered from whatever caused your barrel to go?
Best check your crank and renew the seals too while your at it.. _________________ We are where we are... |
