It goes like stink, fastest 250 i've ever ridden by a long chalk, absolutely love it.

Hi guys,

Here are a few pics of dyno results from my 92 RS with 92 SP engine:

Red curve is pretty much the first run of the day

Blue curve is trying a set of SP tadao exhausts on the bike, note the extra overrev but otherwise the same as martins pipe.

Green curve is 1st attempt at sorting the PV and ignition curve. Look at the extra drive from 6500!

Another set of curves:

Green line is a standard 3xv R model.

Red is the jetting as it was (not rich enough Sad eeeeeekkkkk) Engine temp was a bit on the high side.

Blue is the jetting closer to safe. Much smoother and more torque, lower peak and less overrev. (Less heat in the pipe)

For the road I think it will be awesome. Look at the linear power delivery between 8 and 10k Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Can't wait to have a go!

Right-click on the image and click view image for a better view!

Yep I will be in a que .. LOL

Is the standard R model power curve leveling off early due to it being Jap Market restricted ?

Well done Dan, stunning job.

Can't wait to see you at Cadwell, but I'll very politely decline your offer of a spin, don't want to jinx it with my bad luck.

Enjoy! Very Happy

Hi guys,

TS yep thats the jap market restriction shown on the dyno in green, so a bit of a cheat comparison really haha,

Karl, I'm afraid I won't be there on the 3xv now but I am going on the KR1. The 3xv still needs work before it is more 'user friendly'.

The 3XV really is a credt to Dan.

He's put a lot of work in since the SP engine let go, and the time and effort to get his after-market CDI working well has really paid off. He's made the best of the SP carbs and trick bits.

I agree with Tim though, you don't want me stand too near toit and putting a jinx on it. Laughing

My association with the 3XV is done now, I got rid of my one-and-a-half engines and a bumper box of parts to Wullie last month. I'm sure he'll make good use of them all. Wullie's bike ws looking good too, I must admit I felt a little envious as he rode off...

It does go really well and I think there is more to be had from it yet too. Especially in the low down grunt region.

Hi Karl,

Those are very kind words thanks very much! I have to give alot of credit to James at Krazy Katt engineering for the setting up of the bike on the dyno. He seriously knows his two strokes and I would recommend him for bike set up. Second to none.

The 3xv got a good thrash round cadwell the other friday, thoroughly enjoyed the day and the bike. It performed faultlessly and is a track weapon:

Very happy with the above:

Green run is the set up we settled on last time i took the bike to the dyno.

The blue run is pretty much the same set up as the green run with one major difference in that i swapped the cylinder heads for original 3xv10 cylinder heads whereas the ones i had on were modified 3xv11 heads (cut for less volume than standard).

The red line is after we optimised the ignition curve and powervalve curve plus a few small carburation tweaks to suit the new heads. Gains everywhere below 11000 rpm. Very happy.

Thanks again James!

Hi guys,

This thread has been dormant for a while now! I have new plans for the bike, I am going to make it so that I have a track mode and road mode. And make it as easy as possible to swap between the two.

I've bought some sticky tyres (michelin power ones) so far and some fancy scitsu clocks:

I will soon be ordering a set of fibreglass fairing for it from ARD racing and making new mounting brackets to suit.

This will enable me to get rid of all the road gear and rear subframe etc.

I have bought another fuel tank from a tzr125 4fl to use on track so I don't knacker the good one on the bike.

Got this brembo master cylinder on the way for it:

Braided lines will be fitted soon and I have goldfren HH sintered pads (awesome pads if you haven't used them before)

The plan will be as light as possible for the track and a decent sticker kit too. I need to decide on a colour scheme, I'm thinking a blue of some kind. Something like this:

Quite like the above but without all the stupid stickers lol.

I reckon 120kg fuelled up is achievable. I weighed it the other week with all the road gear and 5 litres of fuel and it came in at 133kg. So incredibly light as standard!

I'll keep progress updated on here.

Hi Dan,

Good to see the old girl's still getting plenty of attention. I guess we'll not be seeing her at Sherburn again as it's track only from now on.

I'm always pleased to see what you're up to, so keep the posts coming. Very Happy

Hi Karl,

No no no don't be silly Very Happy I'll be keeping it mot'd and taxed so i can simply chuck the road gear back on and go for a blast to squires. Besides i need to do testing on the road every now and again too. You'll see it out and about again mate Very Happy

Really need to sus out why its not quite going like it should after 11k. Should be making 65bhp at 11.5k with overrev to 12 and beyond really. Thats what i aim to sort out too.

Its just so good on track and so much fun so i have to make sure i don't damage the lovely original fairings by using some fibreglass replacements.

Lots of work will get done over my xmas holidays.

Dan
