13 Years on......
After initially falling in Lust in november 1994 with Reggy at the NEC it took me 13 years to actually get one. Id had a series of 350 LCs, a NS400, a TZR3MA, RG250 Mk3 and a couple of four strokes (SP1, mint GS750e etc etc)
but I still NEEDED an Aprilia.

You know the sound a stroker makes.... the smell , well now I have one
and once I get it clean I`ll photo it and send it to Tim to put it in the article.

I intend to get it to Stafford Classic Jap show in 2007 - even though its not japanese and its not a classic - That should be " Diffrent Stroker" enough for you Smile

The engine is though... Wink

Welcome on board Paul. We want more non-Japanese stuff on here, as long as they go ring-a-ding we love 'em all. Looking forward to having your bike on show at Stafford. If it's anything like your previous bikes, it'll be better than mint. Cool

Well a fortnight down the line and Reggy is nowhere like ready...... as in "show ready" .... owning my last LC for 15 years has sent me soft and Ive become a wimp and need longer to get Reggy done. Either that or claim it was worse than it looked and bring it in its "Mark one" state......

This happened with the LC one year - a week or so before the Show I took a few bits off to clean them a bit and over the next few days I took a few more bits off,..... then a few more....... you know the routine , and by the wednesday I had a frame, loom and rolling chassis in one piece with three days to rebuild it. .... By friday night it was complete and running sweet, saturday morning at 6.30am I set off for the show.

Sorry Tim, ( I`ll apologise to cover my ass ) I also forgot how poor Eytetie nuts and bolts are chrome plated, ... I`ll bring some cash to replace the REALLY tatty ones. See you friday.... or come the worst, saturday AM .

The LC used to virtually clean itself
Reggy,

Paul, I don't think you've got anything to worry about... Laughing

Half the reason for setting up Diff'rent Strokers in the first place was to enable anyone with an interesting bike to join in and show it off, whether it's mint or not. Very Happy

None of mine would ever have a chance in hell of appearing on the VJMC club stand for example - stone chips, touched-up paint, scuffed alloy, non-standard parts, even the odd rusty or corroded bit if you look hard enough. Does that mean they shouldn't be there ? We don't think so, and the comments we've had from punters seem to agree. Cool

So polish away by all means, but don't wear your fingerprints away on our account, and don't breathe in too many Solvol fumes... Nono

SOLVOL ???? Jeez, you really don`t like your alloy bits .... I use "Belge Alu " Expensive, but worth every penny .... I use solvol on steel ...

Hi Paul,
house move went well, still getting settled and getting a few bits done. You will have to come and visit.

as for Shiny RS/RGV bits, only got paddock stand bobbins at the moment.
cheers
Tom
