I found my switch in pieces, not sure what happened old age I think, but managed to glue what bits I had left and matched it up to one for the R6 and FZS1000 plus others http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Front-Brake-Light-Switch-Yamaha-YZF-R6-99-04-/140995212614?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item20d3f83546 Hope this helps someone as I initially bought one for the RD500 which definitely is not the same. XXX I ordered the one for a 99/04 R6 and it fits perfectly.XXX
