Diff'rent Strokers

I'd considered a 916 for years, but reliability and service costs always put me off.

But recently, after reconsidering the costs, due to an £800 bill for a TDR engine rebuild, and owning the infamous reverse cylinder (seizure) TZR,
I thought maybe it wouldn't really be much different after all.

The early monoposto/strada model was the one I always wanted, the original and best in my eyes.
But I just couldn't find the one I wanted, plenty of biposto, but not my first choice.

Getting desperate, I'd noticed that prices had started to climb, so changed tack and went looking for an early 748SP, and almost bought one too.
But I took so long deciding if it was what I wanted, it sold before I committed to it.

Ironically, within days of missing out on the 748, I spotted this 916 Strada.
No messing about this time, after checking out the bikes chassis number with Ducati UK, I struck the deal and picked it up last week.

1994 916 Strada, 6k miles, 3 previous owners, all original, 1 very happy new owner! Love

Well done! I have always wanted one, or a 748 in yellow. A tidy looking bike.

Very nice, I just started to look at Dukes the other day too, I was going for a 748SP/SPS as had seen the prices start to climb too. That or first R1, but doubt I'd ride either TBH.

Iv always loved these they truly are the best looking bike ever made
Im sure its the lusting after one of these that made my mind wander to bikes but then i rode a two stroke!

My Dad had one several years ago and my TZR250 2MA appeared to be physically bigger!

Knowing i'm slightly sick as I love the styling Twisted Evil

It is very true about the 90's 4 strokes though, I can't believe how cheap you can buy exotica like 748's and even the odd Bimota.

Beautiful, you won't regret it.

I have a '95 900SS carb model that I have owned for 10 years and it is brilliant - and don't believe the rubbish about reliability. I usually do all my own mech work but entrust shim and belt on the SS to a local specialist - Carl Harrison , he is a Ducati genius and highly recommended.
