Some genuine advice, for new members. Ignore at your peril.
Post something. If you register and then never post anything, you'll look like a spam account and it's quite likely that we'll just delete you. What should you post ? Just say hello, say what bikes you've got or a bit about your biking history, stick a photo up, tell us about your ongoing restoration or whatever. You don't have to share your whole life with us, just tell us enough so we know you're a real person and that you're on the right forum. This place is nothing unless members add interesting and useful content to it - if you just want to absorb that without contributing anything yourself, we don't want you on here.
As above, if you take the time to introduce yourself, you'll find the people on here are friendly, helpful, knowledgable and generous. If however your first six posts are just the same Wanted or For Sale ad pasted into every section, you should expect a bit of flak in return, from gentle leg-pulling all the way up to personal abuse. We won't tolerate outright hostility on here, but if you want respect then make a bit of effort to earn it. |
