Simple question... has anyone replaced the original 4stroke in Suzuki RB50 with a stroker of any description?? Although mine has a couple of Takagawa tuning parts, it's still in need of some "go", and I'd prefer it had a ring-ting-ting soundtrack too!! Any help or guidance would be very welcome Smile

The Skoal Baby paint job can come later!! Laughing

It was done by the Suzuki factory itself; search for "Solifer-R" Wink

http://www.suzukicycles.org/Solifer-Suzuki/Solifer-Suzuki-R.shtml

The engine was based on the usual TS50ER, meaning a RM80 would fit Twisted Evil

The Solifer was even slower than the 4-stroke RB50. Shocked

You want to keep it Suzuki ideally, look at the baby MX's that kids race. Is there a bike autojumble near you ? Always lots of that sort of stuff at my local one.

Aircooled means you don't need to squeeze a radiator in somewhere.

But my local Suzuki-pervert (who you know Wink ) is able to make anything fit anything else if you get stuck.

Would a TS125 fit? This could have over 15hp with a bit of a fettle

RB50

TS125

Well Darin, in anticipation of your RB one day being faster than mine, you've now got me poking round Japanese Monkey-bike sites looking for tuning parts for mine.

Project "tuRBo" starts here... Shocked

I would try to keep it air cooled if you can, make the conversion alot simpler, trying to squeeze a rad in is a pain in the a**e Laughing

You coukd also look into using a 1980 TS250 with a tuning kit taking it from 23hp std to over 30 reliable hp

Engine looks slightly bigger than 125/185 though..?
Decisions decisions decisions

Cool I really like the idea of an RM80 motor, and having ridden my mates old RM100 when we were 15/16 (which went like STINK!) - that sounds like the right answer... and a bloody scary one!! Laughing

I'll have to do some measuring, but after a quick look at specs (14/15bhp @ 11000rpm) it sounds perfect Green Grin

Yeah definitely want to keep it 'Suzuki' and aircooled as I don't want to have to faff with rads and water pipes.

I might have a chat with your perv too Very Happy

Cheers Shaun, worth a look if the RM80 doesn't work for any reason
